How a referral works
1. Pick & submit
Choose from the options below what you and your client prefer as a service. We just need their and your contact details, as well as your clinical work-up.
2. Plan a discussion
You can pick a slot for a video meeting with either yourself or with the client. This serves to discuss further wishes and to agree on the best way forward.
3. Report & follow-up
The agreed advice is formulated and is send to you and, if selected, also the client. Afterwards, your updates enable early adaptation of the diet, should it seem necessary. For foreign clients, billing will go through your practice.

Standard
For practices that refer regularly.
This subscriptoin includes a 10% discount on the prices below for diet checks and optimisations, with all invoices going to the practice. While you can earn on referrals, the total price for your clients is reduced as intake becomes more efficient. A win - win!

For practices with a dedicated nutritional work-up.
This subscription includes the advantages of the standard package but quick info is included in the fee and urgent cases are charged at 20% discount.
This is especially useful when you often deal with complicated cases, or want to improve your own advice!

Diet check
Not sure if your patient's diet is optimal and immediate optimisation is not yet on the table? Here simply assess the current diet and determine whether something could or should change. An upgrade to diet optimisation is possible afterwards.

Diet optimisation
In need of an individualised dietary plan for your patient? This service includes the diet check and its improvement after a discussion with either you or your client. During the meeting, an estimate of the total cost will be made, and extra wishes can be expressed. Not to worry, if no changes are needed, only the diet check will be charged.
The same details are needed as for the diet check service.
Price: 160 CHF / h (144 CHF / h for partners)
Max: 400 CHF or 490 CHF when upgraded from diet check

Urgent advice
Sometimes you need help, and you need it fast! This service is meant for more time-sensitive cases and can range from quick hints, to full dietary advice for the first critical period. Once we are passed this stage, prices for the other services apply.
All you need to submit is a short description, your availability and we'll try to call back within 1 working day
Price: 250 CHF / h (200 CHF / h for advanced partners)
Follow-up
Do we need to tweak the diet slightly after the initial advice? Small adaptations are requested through this service. In case of more extensive changes, e.g. a recipe is requested or needed due to another diagnoses, services will be charged at the price of a diet optimisation.
Novel clinical results (if there are any), should be submitted with the booking.

Contact details
Both your details, as well as those of the owner should
be provided.
Signalment
Name, species, breed, sex & neuter status, activity level
Weight trends
Actual body weight, gaining or losing (and how time span)
If growing, parents' weight or estimated adult weight
Condition scores
Body and muscle condition scores should be provided.
Photographs of your patient from above and from the side
can be an added value here.
Clinical findings
The relevant history, your findings during examination, lab results,
your (working) diagnosis, the treatment plan as well as previously
tried strategies.
Partner code
If you have a partnership, be sure to either provide your key
when your clients submit the case themselves, or submit it for
them.
About feeding & management
Supervision
Whether other pets are present and can be fed separately
If there is unsupervised outdoor access with food sources.
Diet composition
All dietary items that are currently fed, including snacks,
supplements and medication aids,
The quantity thereof (preferably gramm per day or week).
For homemade ingredients, it is important to indicate if the
reported weight is cooked or fresh.
Food handling
How food is stored and / or prepared
Diet history
Dietary approaches used before, what result they rendered and for how long the change was attempted.
If a change was advised recently, please indicate when. This is
especially important for exclusion diets.
When requesting support for adverse food reactions, either a list of what has been fed before can be uploaded, or not yet fed items can be indicated from our list.
Feeding behaviour
Has appetite changed? Is there a pattern?
Further requests
Anything else that may come to mind and seems important (e.g.
specific wishes of the owner, can be indicated as well)
Next to the owner's and your contact details, your clinical work-up and plan is central to the referral. For the quick info and urgent advice services, however, you do not need to submit elaborate details!
A lot will have to provided by the owners. The more accurate they are, the quicker a case can be handled and the fewer follow-ups are needed. A more thorough work-up thus reduces total expenses! For missing data, estimates will be used, which may not be fitting.

The price can vary considerably depending on the complexity of the case, how to the point the referral is, additional wishes from the owner etc. During the schedulded meeting with either you or the owner, total cost will be estimated to agree upon. Costs for an optimisation will, however, not exceed 490 CHF. For urgent advice, only the immediate response time will be charged as such. Other services are provided at a fixed rate.
This is your choice! During case submission you can indicate who will be in the video call, where the bill is sent etc. For non-Swiss owners, invoices will be sent to the practice.
The dietary advice is there to support your treatment plan. Suggestions may be made but this service is a partnership, rather than a hand-off.

The partnership agreements on the other hand do require a separate contract. They are meant for you to benefit more from our cooperation. We would first have an online meeting to determine the best fit for your practice. Thereafter, you will receive the contract for your revision.
Urgent requests get priority. Normally, you should receive an email or a call-back within 1 working day. Depending on the complexity, we try to solve your problem then and there or as quickly as possible.
Unless you're asking support for a non-Swiss client, it is up to you to decide if you prefer this. It does allow you to be the sole point of contact. Some owners may be more comfortable to ask for help within the established trust-relationship between your practice and them.
Within a partnership, you can earn 10% on referrals when you charge the normal rate to your clients. As this would also make referral more efficient, total costs for the owners would go down. Everybody wins!
